Has it been a month since I've updated
this blog? Time goes way too fast -- and the older you get,
the fastest it goes. (you'll see, all you young whippersnappers
out there!) We've been embroiled in updating this site - next
week we should be ready and we'll have an entire new look. Plus
the ordering interface will be streamlined, making everything
much easier. We will also be introducing a new product: "Magic
Bean Seeds". Sound silly? Wait until you see what they are!
We'll announce these in a few days.
I've also been experimenting with using
a few of the coupon and promo code websites, so if you'd like
a discount on your order, do some Googling to find the code(s).
We've got about six different promo codes out there and they are
relatively easy to find (but you'll have to do the searching,
folks!).

Out of all of our outside
vendors (which aren't many) we think Birchcraft is one of
the best. I needed to order invitations to our semi-annual
wedding luncheon and, once again was simply amazed at how
quickly and smoothly the ordering process went! I had tons
of designs to choose from, many font choices along with
wording suggestions. So, I decided to offer a 'Summer Special*'
on all Birchcraft orders - 25% off any size order off of
the Birchcraft line.
Plus, I have one coupon for an additional
10% discount valid only during the month of July, so the first
person who reads this and sends me an email claiming the 10%
off wins the coupon. Their Birchcraft order will be 35% off.
Not too shabby, eh? Not ordering invitations? Okay, send me
an email and claim ten percent off and I'll give it to the
first person who emails, just for paying attention! (valid
through July)

Two orders we received today
were for photo wine labels, which is my absolute favorite
type of order! I love working with portraits and photos as
well as helping people celebrate their special life events,especially
when I can see what the folks look like. Most of the time
these are ordered by a relative or a close friend as a surprise,
so it's fun to imagine how surprised they really are!
By the way, I guess you can say that I've started a blog.
You are more than welcome to help me out! As you can see,

Today is the last day of
school! Summer vacation begins for our two boys, ages 13 and
17, and in some respects for us as well -- we don't have to
drag them out of bed for the next 3 months, that's something!
But we will have to drag one away from his computer and another
away from his music to get some fresh air once in a while.
(Was I like that when I was a teenager?)
Outside our front door, which is wide open, the gardenias
have started to bloom and the scent is unbelievable. Combine
this with the honeysuckle, the magnolias, and the mimosas
-- this is the most fragrant time of year in southeastern
North Carolina. Yesterday I made sure a customer took a bunch
of gardenias with him - "It will scent your entire apartment;
your fiance' will love them." He was surprised and grateful.
Back to work, now.

Hi Kate, thank you for the preview.
The proof you sent looks wonderful. They'd be perfect for
us except for one thing. I did leave a telephone message
and I believe an email. After I had sent the order, I was
confused about the "Happy 50th Anniversary" on the label.
I had assumed it was automatically included and then I had
my second thoughts. I would like the black band on the wine
label to say Happy 50th Anniversary. Would you please make
that change? Except for that one thing, everything else is
perfect.

I wanted to let you know
that I received my wine labels this afternoon just as you
had promised. They are so cute & look great on my bottles;
my guests are gonna love them! I wanted to thank you again
for all your help and being so prompt at getting these done
for me in a short time (since I tend to be a little 'last
